Conditional Salvation
Such a statement for many would be welcome and yet to others an anathema, but what does the Bible say about salvation? Is it conditional? Has God required of man a condition whereby He is to be granted spiritual birth (regeneration)?
C. E believes the Scripture is very clear on this truth. We find repeated examples in God's work regarding the facts about what is required by man of God to receive the free gift of salvation (regeneration).
Biblical Proof Number One:
Acts 16:25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the jail were shaken, and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's chains came loose. 27 When the jailer woke up and saw the doors of the prison open, he drew his sword and was going to kill himself, since he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul called out in a loud voice, "Don't harm yourself, because all of us are here!" 29 Then the jailer called for lights, rushed in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 Then he escorted them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
31 So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household." 32 Then they spoke the message of the Lord to him along with everyone in his house. 33 He took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds. Right away he and all his family were baptized. 34 He brought them up into his house, set a meal before them, and rejoiced because he had believed God with his entire household.
Biblical Proof NumberTwo:
Luke 7:50 And He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace."
Bilical Proof Number Three:
John 3:16
"For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
Biblical Proof Number Four:
John 3:36
The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life; instead, the wrath of God remains on him.
Biblical Proof Number Five:
John 6:29
Jesus replied, "This is the work of God: that you believe in the One He has sent." (Jesus)
Biblical Proof Number Six:
John 6:47
" I assure you: Anyone who believes has eternal life.
Biblical Proof Number Seven:
John 9:35-38 When Jesus heard that they had thrown the man out, He found him and asked, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?" 36 "Who is He, Sir, that I may believe in Him?" he asked. 37 Jesus answered, "You have seen Him; in fact, He is the One speaking with you." 38. "I believe, Lord!" he said, and he worshiped Him.
To believe is to have faith, to trust, to place one's confidence in the work of God and God's work is that you and I believe in His work which is the death, burial, and resurrection (includes ascension) of His Son Jesus Christ.
